The resource pages contain helpful information to assist you in planning for a healthful and comfortable pregnancy. You will have lots of questions and we want to ensure the information you receive is reliable and trustworthy.
Nutrition in Pregnancy:
Eating right during pregnancy helps give your baby the best possible start. A healthy diet also helps you feel better and makes your pregnancy more comfortable. You're eating for two now, but that doesn't mean you need to eat twice as much. Depending on your level of physical activity, you will need to add about 300 more calories every day.
Healthy ways to add those 300 calories:
- A 6 oz baked potato with skin, topped with low fat cheese, ½ cup broccoli, and ¼ cup salsa
- ½ cup chicken salad, half a piece of pita bread, lettuce, tomato, with 1 tablespoon low fat mayo
- 8 oz skim milk or low fat yogurt, a banana, and ¼ cup low fat granola
