Yolanda Lawson, Board Certified Medical Doctor and Associate Attending at Baylor University Medical, has a genuine passion for the physical, emotional and overall health of women. She dedicates her energy and time to maintaining the excellence of which MadeWell Obstetrics and Gynecology was built upon: Providing superior, organic healthcare with diplomacy, concern and respect.
She earned her M.D. at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She performed her internship at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her residency at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Lawson offers a broadened approach to healthcare likely due to her extensive exposure at several major medical centers.
What establishes Dr. Lawson above the benchmark is her history in caring for people from a variety of backgrounds. Her experience is cross-cultural. Her foundation is solid. Dr. Lawson has a passion for medicine, is an advocate for women and continues to trail-blaze the way healthcare is administered. "Since being in private practice, my respect for women has increased dramatically. I talk to them daily and I hear regularly the things they are able to do and endure. I see how strong they are. I get, firsthand, the testimonies of amazing women who seem ordinary, but are anything but. Honestly, I gain a lot of insight from that."
Dr. Lawson is a member of the American Medical Association, National Medical Association, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dallas Country Medical Society, sits on a variety of boards and other community activities and volunteer organizations. These are all accomplishments that attribute to Dr. Lawson's commitment and while her studies include the latest of educational, innovative healthcare, technology and practice she knows that women are not textbooks. Education and training alone is not enough. Her level of patience, attentiveness, intuition and skill to care for others set the standard and makes women feel like 'this is how we are supposed to be treated.'
